You’ll have the support of the DON, ADON, and Administrator, along with the autonomy to lead your weekend team.

  • Verify CNA point-of-care documentation for ADLs, showers, bowel movements, vital signs, and weights
  • Follow up on missing entries and outstanding tasks before shift end whenever possible
  • Verify new physician orders are entered, acknowledged, implemented, and communicated; hand off unresolved items to the oncoming shift and ADON/DON
  • Resident Care & Clinical Oversight
  • Assess changes in condition and ensure appropriate physician/NP and family notification and follow-up
  • Coordinate admissions, transfers, discharges, and hospital returns; monitor medications, treatments, infection control, and safety

  • Escalate urgent concerns immediately; ensure new orders and recommendations are implemented and documented
  • Facility Operations & Communication
  • Act as weekend clinical lead; respond to emergencies and resident/family concerns
  • Support completion of in-service and Relias education for weekend staff
  • Notify the DON and Administrator immediately of any significant incidents, abuse allegations, or staffing or regulatory concerns; coordinate with support departments

End-of-Shift Responsibilities

  • Confirm nursing and CNA assignments and PCC follow-up; provide a thorough handoff
