SECTION I: Job Summary

The QC Inspector – Fireproofing performs inspection and testing of passive fireproofing application activities to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.

SECTION II: Job Analysis

Duties & Responsibilities

  • · Perform in-process and final inspections on fireproofing application works.
  • · Verify surface preparation, primer, and fireproofing material application against specifications.
  • · Witness thickness (DFT/WFT) checks and adhesion tests per the ITP.
  • · Verify materials and batch certificates against approved specifications.
  • · Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required.
  • · Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/third-party inspectors.
  • · Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
  • · Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment (thickness gauges) used on site.
  • · Support punch-list generation and verification of closure for fireproofing works.
  • · Ensure work fronts comply with approved method statements and fireproofing standards.
  • · Support preparation of quality documentation for fireproofing handover dossiers.
