About The Role

This role is looking for a Portfolio Risk Senior Lead that plays a critical role in shaping Amartha’s credit policies, overseeing portfolio performance, and implementing risk strategies that align with our mission to support millions of underserved micro-businesses. You will collaborate with data, business, and operations teams to drive sustainable growth, reduce credit losses, and enhance financial inclusion across Indonesia.

This role offers a unique opportunity to influence lending strategies at scale and contribute to a high-impact, purpose-driven organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of credit risk policies across Amartha's lending products.
  • Monitor and analyze loan portfolio performance, trends, and segmentation to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with data science, product, and operations teams to balance growth with portfolio health.
  • Identify emerging risks and proactively propose mitigation strategies to maintain asset quality.
  • Support financial planning by providing accurate credit forecasts, provisioning inputs, and risk-adjusted return insights.
  • Deliver clear and actionable reports and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Statistics, or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience in credit risk management, loan portfolio analytics, or strategy—preferably in fintech, P2P lending, or multi-finance institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of credit lifecycle management, risk segmentation, and portfolio strategy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Ability to interpret complex data into strategic insights and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with machine learning-based credit scoring or alternative data models.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as OJK, Basel, or IFRS 9.
  • Knowledge of borrower behavior in microfinance or MSME segments.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven, and agile work environment.

At Amartha, we are dedicated to creating a workplace that celebrates diversity, ensures equity, and fosters inclusion. We believe that diverse perspectives—shaped by factors such as gender, age, race, ethnicity, education, culture, and life experiences—drive innovation and growth.

We actively welcome individuals from all backgrounds to join us in building an environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered. Our commitment is to provide equal opportunities and foster a sense of belonging that enables our employees to thrive and make meaningful contributions.
