FrontLobby helps make renting fair and transparent for Landlords and Tenants. Housing Providers use FrontLobby to report rent payments to the Credit Bureaus, screen Tenants, and recover unpaid rental debt. Our products include Rent Reporting, Tenant Screening, Debt Reporting, and Landlord Assist.

How We Work

Our engineers write most of their code with Claude Code and other AI development tools. This changes the job. Writing code is no longer the slow part. The hard parts are deciding what to build, how it should fit into the system, and whether the result is correct. We hire for those skills.

Our product designer also builds working prototypes with Claude on feature branches. Engineers review those branches and turn them into production code. You will work across that whole loop, from a rough prototype to a feature that is tested, reviewed, and released.

The Role

We are hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer, intermediate to senior, to join our small remote team. You will plan and ship features across our Vue.js, Node.js, TypeScript, and MySQL platform. You will spend less time typing code and more time on design decisions, directing AI agents, and reviewing work closely. You will own features from plan to release.

This role is remote and works Eastern Time business hours. It is open to candidates living in Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay or Chile.

What You Will Do

• Plan before building. Break a problem down, read the existing code, write a short plan, and pick the approach that fits the current architecture.
• Direct AI agents. Give Claude Code clear context and well-scoped tasks, keep it on track, and step in when it drifts or overreaches.
• Review everything closely. Review every change, whether a teammate or an agent wrote it. Catch the bugs, security gaps, and design problems that a quick read misses.
• Make architectural calls. Decide on data models, API boundaries, where new code belongs, and what to reuse instead of rebuild.
• Turn prototypes into production code. Take design prototypes and rebuild them to our standards for structure, testing, and security.
• Prove it works. Write tests that prove behaviour, have agents work against them, and check results in the running app before calling anything done.
• Improve how we use AI. Maintain project instructions, skills, and review workflows so our agents produce better work over time.
• Own releases. Ship your features, watch them in production, and fix what breaks.
• Work across the team. Work with product, design, and support. Explain tradeoffs in plain language.
• What Matters Less to Us

You do not need to have memorized framework APIs or be the fastest coder on the team. We care more about judgment than volume. A small, correct, well-reviewed change is worth more to us than a large one nobody fully understands.

• How We Hire
• Phone screen. A 15-minute call about your background and how you work with AI tools today.
• Take-home assignment. A code review assignment in a practice codebase that you complete on your own time. Use the AI tools you normally use.
• Technical interview. A video call where we go over your solution with you and ask about the choices you made.
• Team conversation. Meet the people you would work with and ask your own questions.

Requirements

• What We Are Looking For
• 4+ years building production web applications across the full stack.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js. Experience with Vue.js or a similar framework such as React or Angular.
• Daily, hands-on experience with Claude Code or a similar agentic coding tool on a real codebase. You can describe your workflow, what works well, and where these tools fail.
• Excellent code review skills. You read diffs carefully and can explain why something is wrong, not only that it is.
• Good architectural instincts. You notice when a change adds needless complexity, duplicates something that already exists, or will be hard to change later.
• A habit of verifying. You do not accept output from people or AI without evidence such as tests, logs, or a working screen.
• Clear written English. Much of this job is writing: plans, prompts, pull request descriptions, and reviews.
• Comfortable working on your own in a small remote team during Eastern Time hours.

Nice to Have

• Experience with MySQL, Docker, CI/CD, and AWS or GCP.
• Experience building product features on LLM APIs, such as the Claude API, tool use, or agents.
• Experience with data privacy and security in SaaS, especially credit, identity, or financial data.
• Experience in proptech, fintech, or credit reporting.
• Experience helping other engineers get better at working with AI tools.
