About Rocky Talkie
Rocky Talkie launched in 2019 with its signature product, a backcountry radio made for climbers and skiers. Since then, Rocky Talkie has launched multiple best-in-class products and has grown quickly in the handheld radio industry. We are committed to making easy-to-use, durable, high-performance products for the backcountry and to supporting our customers.
Rocky Talkie has a rapidly growing base of happy customers in North America and recently expanded to the EU. We design our products for use in extreme conditions, and our radios have been adopted by a wide variety of outdoor enthusiasts and commercial applications. We have a small, passionate, and highly motivated team with a deep understanding of our customers and outdoor communications. We would love your help in bringing Rocky Talkie to a new generation of customers.
Our team is driven every day by the belief that better communication in the backcountry will save lives. As part of this mission, we donate $2 per radio sold to search-and-rescue teams across the country.
The Opportunity
This role is for someone who enjoys shaping how a brand teaches, informs, and connects with its community through thoughtful, well-crafted content. While this role will focus primarily on editorial content, the ideal candidate will bring strong written and visual content creation skills to help tell stories across various multimedia platforms. You’ll help define how Rocky Talkie shares knowledge, tells stories, and builds trust through multimedia content and educational resources.
This role requires technical product knowledge, outdoor expertise, and excellent editorial storytelling skills. Your focus will be helping customers and partners better understand communication in real-world environments—why choose Rocky Talkie, how radios enable communication in a specific activity, how they work, and how they improve safety and experience in the backcountry and beyond.
This role executes Rocky Talkie’s educational and multimedia content, including website content, guides, product storytelling, and long-form brand narratives. You’ll help ensure our content is not only engaging and inspiring, but also accurate, useful, and grounded in real expertise.

As a small team, this role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You’ll help shape the editorial direction while also writing, editing, coordinating internal and external contributors, and guiding visual production from idea to publication.
