The Role

As a Software Developer on the Asteris team, you will help build and evolve Keystone, our PACS platform for veterinary imaging. You will work on features that store, transfer, render, and share diagnostic images, and help deliver the reliability, performance, and integrations our clients rely on every day.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain features across the Keystone PACS platform
• Work with DICOM data and imaging workflows, including storage, transfer, viewing, and reporting
• Build and support integrations with imaging modalities and practice management systems
• Design services with a strong focus on high availability, scalability, performance, and observability
• Take end-to-end ownership of the quality, testing, and production readiness of what you build
• Write clean, well-documented code and take part in code and design reviews
• Build prototypes and proofs of concept to evaluate new technologies
• Work with the Support team to identify and fix performance, scalability, and production issues
• Collaborate with Product and Support to translate client needs into solutions

Requirements

• What You Bring
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Hands-on experience with medical imaging, PACS, and the DICOM standard
• Strong skills in a modern object-oriented language, such as C# / .NET or C++
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Solid understanding of networking and client/server architecture
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote team

Nice to Have

• Experience with HL7 or healthcare integrations
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and image storage at scale
• Experience with 3D rendering or advanced image viewers
