Job Purpose

Thomas is a PE-backed SaaS business operating across the UK, Europe, Australia and South Africa.

We’re looking for a hands-on Accountant to sit at the heart of our month-end. You’ll own accounts payable, deliver accurate close for your areas and help us find better, simpler ways of working.

Reporting to our Finance Business Partner, you’ll be part of a collaborative finance team spanning the UK and South Africa.

What you’ll be doing

• Delivering month-end close : Preparing accurate, timely journals, accruals and prepayments for your areas, in line with the close timetable.
• Owning balance sheet reconciliations : Preparing and maintaining reconciliations, with a focus on assets such as bank, fixed assets, prepayments and intercompany.
• Owning accounts payable : Taking ownership of AP and supplier payments, with colleagues supporting day-to-day transactions.
• Supporting sales invoicing : Helping with sales invoicing and recording payments.
• Supporting audit and statutory reporting : Playing your part in the year-end audit and statutory reporting process.
• Finding efficiencies : Simplifying and standardising processes, reducing manual work and supporting automation.

Requirements

• What we’re looking for
• A qualified or close-to-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Solid experience of month-end, balance sheet reconciliations and accounts payable.
• Strong attention to detail and good Excel skills.
• Organised and proactive, taking ownership of your areas and following things through.
• Confident using AI and new technology to work smarter and improve the quality of your work, with good judgement about data, risk and accuracy.
• Comfortable working with colleagues across time zones, as our finance team works across the UK and South Africa.
• Experience with a cloud ERP such as NetSuite is an advantage, but not essential.
