About this role

The Vendor Engagement Specialist supports vendor relationships throughout the vendor lifecycle, including vetting, onboarding, ongoing relationship management, performance monitoring, and issue resolution. This role works directly with vendors and internal teams to address operational concerns, maintain accurate communication, and promote vendor accountability.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and maintaining productivity and accuracy standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support vendor vetting, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Communicate directly with vendors to investigate delays, answer process-related questions, and resolve operational issues.
  • Monitor vendor performance, error trends, rechecks, and key metrics to drive accountability.
  • Participate in vendor meetings and help address performance or operational concerns.
  • Proactively identify, report, and escalate vendor-related issues when necessary.
  • Maintain client and internal team updates regarding vendor delays and other relevant issues.
  • Conduct regular queue cleanups and maintain operational accuracy across vendor files.
  • Follow established policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and provide cross-functional support.
  • Complete special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in the drug screening and/or background screening industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Comfortable conducting extensive internet research and navigating multiple windows or browsers.
  • Ability to type at least 45 WPM and enter data quickly and accurately.
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn background screening processes, industry vendors, and related information.
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
  • Previous remote work experience preferred.
  • Reliable and able to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Able to work at a computer for prolonged periods.
