AP/AR Specialist (Temp-to-Hire)

About this role

We are hiring a temp-to-hire Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our accounting team with day-to-day billing and payment work. In this role, you will handle vendor and customer calls, follow up on outstanding invoices, and upload travel invoices to Sage, keeping our records accurate and payments on track. This position has the potential to be long-term, or permanent, depending on business need. The pay rate for the role is 20/hr.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls from vendors, customers, and internal teams, and resolve or route billing questions
• Follow up on open and past-due invoices by phone and email until they are paid
• Record payments and keep the accounts receivable aging report current
• Upload and code travel invoices (airfare, hotel, car rental) in Sage
• Match invoices to bookings, receipts, or purchase orders and flag discrepancies
• Assist with processing vendor invoices and payments on schedule
• Keep vendor and customer records organized and up to date
• Support month-end close and reconciliations as needed

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or collections
• Professional phone manner and clear written communication
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry
• Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets
• Organized and persistent in following items through to resolution
• Experience with Sage preferred
• Experience processing travel or expense invoices a plus
