AlphaGov (Casa Moon LLC d/b/a AlphaGov) delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research.
We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. When you authorize it, AlphaGov may name you as an expert collaborator or key personnel on proposals that match your expertise. We build ready teams for live pursuits.
This opportunity is contingent upon contract award and final staffing approval. Permission will be requested before including a candidate's name or resume in a proposal.
AlphaGov is seeking a Management Consultant to lead strategy, organizational assessment, process-improvement, and program-management engagements for state and local government agencies. The work turns agency priorities and stakeholder insight into practical findings, implementation roadmaps, measurable improvements, and sustainable operating practices.
What you'll do
- Lead strategy and organizational-assessment engagements from discovery through client-ready recommendations
- Assess operating models, processes, roles, governance, service delivery, and performance measures
- Facilitate interviews, workshops, and working sessions with agency leaders, staff, and stakeholders
- Design process improvements, implementation roadmaps, operating practices, and change approaches
- Manage work plans, schedules, risks, deliverables, and communication across client engagements
- Translate analysis into clear executive briefings, reports, and actionable program-management tools
Requirements
- Required
- Management consulting, organizational assessment, strategy, process-improvement, or program-management experience
- Experience leading structured discovery, analysis, stakeholder facilitation, and recommendation development
- Ability to produce clear client-ready reports, presentations, roadmaps, and implementation plans
- State, local, education, utility, or other public-sector consulting experience
- Comfortable as a 1099 / project-based collaborator
Nice to have
- Experience with government operating-model, service-delivery, or organizational-effectiveness projects
- Lean, Six Sigma, Prosci, PMP, or comparable credentials
- Performance-management, workforce, change-management, or process-mapping experience
- Experience managing multi-workstream public-sector engagements
