About this role

Our client in the UK is looking for a Short-Form Video Editor to turn raw footage into scroll-stopping short-form content that sounds and feels like the client. You will take long-form footage (typically clips of around two hours) and cut it into punchy, on-brand videos that land UK humour, pacing and hooks first time, so the London team spends its time on ideas rather than rounds of feedback.

Key responsibilities

  • Review long-form footage and pull out the strongest moments, reactions and hooks for short-form content.
  • Edit high volumes of vertical video for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, to agreed daily or weekly output targets.
  • Write and time on-screen captions, text overlays, hooks and calls to action that match the tone and UK audience.
  • Apply sound, music, trending audio, pacing and transitions that suit each platform and format.
  • Produce multiple variations of a concept (different hooks, CTAs or cuts) for testing.
  • Self-check every video against the brief and brand guidelines before submission, cutting down QC and revision cycles.
  • Turn feedback around quickly within the same working day where possible.
  • Keep footage, project files and exports organised in storage and project management tools.
  • Keep across TikTok and Instagram trends, formats and UK culture, and bring ideas to the team.

Requirements

  • What you will bring
  • 2+ years editing short-form social content, ideally for a consumer, entertainment or e-commerce brand, or an agency.
  • A portfolio or showreel of TikTok / Reels content with measurable performance.
  • Strong command of Premiere Pro, CapCut, After Effects or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with a natural feel for British humour, slang and cultural references.
  • Proven ability to work at pace and volume without losing quality.
  • Reliable home setup and connectivity and availability on UK hours.

Nice to have

  • Experience with UGC and creator-led content.
  • Motion graphics or basic animation.
  • Familiarity with games, board games or party culture.
  • Basic understanding of paid social creative testing.
  • How success is measured
  • Videos delivered against agreed volume targets.
  • First-time approval rate and reduction in QC comments.
  • Turnaround time from footage to finished edit.
  • Content performance (views, watch time, engagement) over time.
