About this role
Sierra Select is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Procurement Manager to lead purchasing and supplier management activities across our organization. This role will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and terms, and ensuring the availability of products and materials needed to support business operations.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in procurement, supply chain management, vendor negotiations, inventory planning, and cost optimization within a distribution, wholesale, retail, or consumer products environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company objectives and inventory requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships, contracts, pricing, payment terms, and service agreements.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, freight terms, and other purchasing conditions.
- Monitor inventory levels, product demand, purchasing requirements, and replenishment schedules.
- Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving and process-improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate with sales, operations, warehouse, finance, and management teams to align purchasing activities with business needs.
- Evaluate and onboard new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance, product quality, delivery timelines, and service levels.
- Review purchase orders and ensure accuracy, approvals, and timely fulfillment.
- Track market conditions, pricing trends, product availability, and supply risks.
- Develop procurement reports, forecasts, and performance metrics for management.
- Identify and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and established controls.
- Support contract negotiations and maintain accurate supplier documentation.
- Lead or participate in procurement process improvements and technology initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to procurement and purchasing staff.
- Perform other strategic procurement duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or vendor management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
- Strong understanding of purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
- Experience with ERP, procurement, inventory management, or purchasing systems.
- Strong analytical and financial skills with the ability to evaluate costs and supplier performance.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and business reporting tools.
- Excellent organizational and project-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
- Experience in distribution, wholesale, consumer electronics, appliances, outdoor living, or related industries is a plus.
- Professional procurement or supply chain certification such as CPSM, CSCP, or CIPS is a plus.
