As an SAP ABAP RAP Developer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing SAP applications using modern ABAP programming techniques, RAP architecture, and CDS-based data modelling. You will collaborate with functional consultants, solution architects, and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient, scalable technical solutions.
You will contribute to SAP implementation projects, develop and optimize backend services, implement business logic, and support application testing, deployment, and performance optimization. The role also involves troubleshooting technical issues, following SAP development best practices, and ensuring that solutions align with enterprise architecture and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- SAP Implementation: Participate in SAP implementation, enhancement, and rollout projects, ensuring technical solutions align with business requirements and SAP standards.
- SAP ABAP Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain custom ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, and other SAP development objects.
- RAP Implementation: Develop and implement applications using the SAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), including managed and unmanaged scenarios where applicable.
- CDS Views Development: Design and optimize Core Data Services (CDS) Views for data modelling, data retrieval, business logic, and application development.
- Business Object Development: Implement RAP business objects, including data models, behavior definitions, behavior implementations, and service definitions.
- Service Exposure: Develop and expose OData services using RAP and support integration with SAP Fiori applications and other consuming systems.
- Technical Design: Translate functional specifications into technical designs, development plans, and maintainable SAP solutions.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize ABAP programs, CDS Views, and database queries to improve application performance and efficiency.
- Integration and Connectivity: Support integration between SAP applications and external systems using appropriate SAP interfaces, APIs, and services.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Perform unit testing, support integration testing and user acceptance testing, and resolve defects identified during testing.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Investigate technical issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions across SAP applications.
- Documentation: Maintain technical specifications, development documentation, test cases, and deployment-related records.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with functional consultants, business analysts, architects, and other developers to deliver effective technical solutions.
- Development Standards: Follow SAP coding standards, performance guidelines, security practices, and established software development methodologies.
- What Makes You a Great Fit?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development, SAP implementation, and enterprise application development.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP ABAP programming, including object-oriented ABAP and modern ABAP development practices.
- Proven experience implementing SAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) solutions.
- Strong knowledge of RAP architecture, including business object modelling, behavior definitions, behavior implementations, service definitions, and service bindings.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing CDS Views, including data modelling, associations, annotations, and performance optimization.
- Experience developing and consuming OData services and integrating SAP applications with external systems.
- Good understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and modern SAP development approaches.
- Experience participating in SAP implementation projects, including technical design, development, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
- Ability to interpret functional specifications and convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of SAP Fiori application integration and SAP development tools such as ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse is preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP extensibility concepts, clean-core principles, and SAP development best practices is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and functional stakeholders.
