About Medical Guardian

Medical Guardian is a fast-growing digital health and safety company on a mission to help people live a life without limits. With 14 consecutive years on the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest Growing Companies, we are redefining what it means to age confidently and independently.

We support over 625,000 members nationwide with life-saving emergency response systems and remote patient monitoring solutions. Trusted by families, healthcare providers, and care managers, our work is powered by a culture of innovation, compassion, and purpose.

The Role

We're hiring the technical builder of record for Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Lifecycle Marketing defines the strategy, maps each journey and touchpoint, builds emails in Knak, and owns deliverability, SMS deployment, and quality at send. Marketing Analytics & Insights owns broader external reporting.

You own everything underneath and in between: the data layer, the technical builds, platform governance, integrations, internal SFMC reporting, and the accuracy of every data flow into our Salesforce instance and reporting platforms. Strong SQL is the backbone of this job, and you'll work in lockstep with both teams across multiple brands and business units.

What You’ll Do:

Data Engineering & SQL (core of the role)

  • Design, build, and maintain data extensions, attribute groups, and relational data models in Contact Builder
  • Write and optimize advanced SQL query activities for segmentation, suppression, deduplication, and reporting
  • Build and monitor recurring data feeds and imports (file-based and API-driven); validate field mappings and personalization data; troubleshoot data-flow and data-extension timing issues before they hit send schedules
  • Build and maintain sendable-audience logic to Lifecycle's specifications: filtered lists, exclusion and suppression frameworks, and engagement-based segments

Journey & Automation Build

  • Configure Journey Builder journeys end to end (entry sources, entry/exit criteria, decision splits, wait steps, goals) from Lifecycle's specifications, including retroactive and evergreen programs
  • Build and maintain automations in Automation Studio: scheduled imports, query chains, file drops, and triggered sends
  • Develop the AMPscript and SSJS powering personalization and dynamic content in the emails Lifecycle builds in Knak
  • Run technical QA and UAT (data validation, personalization logic, journey behavior) ahead of Lifecycle's creative and send-quality review

Platform Governance & Data Protection

  • Monitor contact counts and Super Message usage against contract entitlements; forecast growth and flag overage risk early
  • Implement deduplication, suppression, and archival strategies to control billable contact volume
  • Maintain the consent and compliance infrastructure behind Lifecycle's sends: preference-center data workflows, CCPA/CPRA opt-out processing, suppression lists, and A2P 10DLC registrations
  • Enforce data-segregation standards for our healthcare business unit, keeping health data strictly separated from marketing data in partnership with legal/compliance
  • Maintain naming conventions, documentation, and version control; follow controlled release and rollback practices (SFMC has no native sandbox, so discipline is the safety net)

Integrations & Data Flow

  • Maintain and extend Marketing Cloud Connect; validate SFMC-to-Salesforce object mapping and sync engagement data (sends, opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes) for a complete, accurate member view
  • Keep the Knak-to-SFMC integration healthy so Lifecycle's email builds sync cleanly into Content Builder
  • Build and maintain REST and SOAP API integrations (installed packages, authentication, triggered sends, data import/export) with Salesforce and third-party platforms
  • Support lead lifecycle data flows and lead-count integrity between systems

Reporting & Analytics Enablement

  • Own internal SFMC reporting: system data views, send and journey performance, and data-quality monitoring
  • Guarantee accurate SFMC and Salesforce data pipes into the Marketing Analytics & Insights team's broader reporting platforms; investigate and reconcile discrepancies at the source
  • Partner with Marketing Analytics & Insights on measurement handoffs and evaluation of emerging capabilities (e.g., Data Cloud, audience activation to paid media)

Required

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on SFMC experience across Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Contact Builder
  • Advanced SQL within SFMC query activities; fluency with system data views
  • Proven experience with data extensions, recurring imports/feeds, and relational data modeling
  • AMPscript proficiency, working knowledge of SSJS, and HTML/CSS for email
  • REST and/or SOAP API integration experience in the Salesforce ecosystem
  • Marketing Cloud Connect and Salesforce CRM data model experience
  • Strong technical QA discipline; able to define testing requirements and validate builds independently
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement certifications (Developer, Administrator, Consultant, and/or Email Specialist)
  • Experience with regulated or healthcare-adjacent marketing data (HIPAA awareness, PHI segregation)
  • Familiarity with Data Cloud, Einstein features, or reverse-ETL audience activation
  • Multi-brand or multi-business-unit SFMC environments

Benefits

  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick Time Off & Holidays)
  • Company Paid Short Term Disability and Life Insurance
  • Retirement Plan (401k) with Company Match
