About OPEN Data Jobs

OPEN Data Jobs (ODJ) is built to craft data careers. We connect high-potential data, AI, and software professionals with meaningful work on the cutting edge of the federal sector, and our aim reaches beyond any single opening: to help you understand your strengths, find the right role, and grow throughout your career.

ODJ is organized around Roles and Openings. A Role is a durable career type, such as Data Engineer or AI Engineer: it describes the work, the skills that count, and where the path can lead. An Opening is a specific position hiring right now, with a level, a location, and an application. Roles help you see where you fit; from there, there is more than one way to move.

Today, you can apply to any Opening that fits you through our secure application system. You can also register for a Role to express interest in that broader category of work. A Role registration is not an application to every future Opening.

The work

Data Program Managers turn a collection of technical projects into one coordinated program that delivers. They align teams, funding, dependencies, schedules, risks, and decisions across data platforms, analytics, governance, software, and artificial intelligence initiatives where no single workstream can succeed alone.

The work is both strategic and intensely practical. Data Program Managers establish the operating rhythm, maintain an integrated view of scope and commitments, surface problems while options remain open, and give executives and delivery teams status they can trust. They understand enough of the underlying data and technology to test assumptions, challenge estimates, and recognize when a technical issue threatens the program's outcomes.

What you'll build

· Integrated program plans that connect workstreams, milestones, dependencies, resources, and decision points.

· Governance and delivery rhythms that keep owners, risks, issues, and commitments visible.

· Benefits and outcome measures that show whether the program is producing mission value, not merely completing activity.

· Risk, issue, and dependency practices that drive timely mitigation and precise escalation.

· Executive reporting, working-level coordination, and durable documentation that keep a complex program coherent through change.

Who you are

You like complicated work when the complexity can be made legible. Your meetings end with decisions, owners, and dates, and your plans help people act rather than admire the planning.

You stay calm when several workstreams move at once. You can speak with engineers about delivery risk, with executives about outcomes and tradeoffs, and with stakeholders about what will happen next.

  • What you bring
  • · A working foundation in program or project delivery across multiple teams, workstreams, or vendors.
  • · Experience managing scope, schedules, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and executive decisions.
  • · Technical fluency in data, analytics, software, cloud, or artificial intelligence sufficient to assess delivery assumptions and consequences.
  • · The ability to establish meaningful performance measures and connect project outputs to program benefits.
  • · Clear written and oral communication, disciplined documentation, and sound judgment in regulated or mission-critical environments.

Requirements

  • What openings may require

Openings may involve platform modernization, data migration, analytics delivery, governance implementation, artificial intelligence adoption, cloud transformation, or portfolios that combine several of these. Some may require Agile, hybrid, or scaled delivery experience; acquisition or vendor management; or knowledge of a particular federal mission.

Specific openings will state the expected program scale, leadership level, methodology, tools, certifications, work location, citizenship, work authorization, background, suitability, clearance, and domain knowledge.

Benefits

Compensation, benefits, work location, and employment terms are set for each specific opening and will be stated with that opening
