About this role
AlphaGov delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research.
We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. When you authorize it, AlphaGov may name you as an expert collaborator or key personnel on proposals that match your expertise. We build ready teams for live pursuits — not speculative staffing banks.
AlphaGov is engaging a Higher Education Regulatory Systems Modernization Consultant for current state work. A state education department is modernizing the systems that support its office of college and university evaluation.
We confirm scope, schedule, and fee with you before any engagement begins.
What you'll do
- Assess academic program registration, institutional review, and evaluation workflows
- Define requirements for case/workflow modernization
- Advise on data migration, public portals, and integrations
- Support implementation planning and change management
- Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when you authorize naming

Requirements
- Required
- At least 5 years of professional experience in higher-education regulation, accreditation, or state education IT modernization
- Requirements and business-process analysis experience
- Comfortable as a 1099 project-based consultant
Nice to have
- NYSED or state higher-ed agency experience
- Low-code case management platforms (Salesforce, ServiceNow, Dynamics)
