About this role

Department: R&D

Location: Israel

Reports to: VP of R&D

Position Type: Full-time

The Role

Our Formulation Scientist role sits at the center of Eybna's R&D process. You'll design and build terpene-based formulations for our ingredient lines, working from BNA™ platform predictions through to bench validation. This is a role for someone who enjoys iterating fast, from computational prediction to physical sample to sensory result.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and refine terpene and botanical formulations for functional, flavor, and aroma applications.
  • Translate BNA™ platform predictions and synergy research into bench-tested formulations, closing the loop between computational and physical validation.
  • Run sensory and stability testing on formulations, adjusting ratios and components to hit target function, taste, and aroma profiles.
  • Collaborate with the Computational Chemistry and Analytical teams to validate formulation performance against predicted receptor and synergy data.
  • Support custom formulation projects for B2B clients, translating customer briefs into working prototypes.
  • Document formulation processes, results, and iterations for the internal knowledge base and regulatory files.
  • Stay current on functional ingredient trends, safety data, and formulation techniques in adjacent industries.

Requirements

  • Degree in chemistry, food science, flavor/fragrance technology, or a related field (MSc preferred).
  • 3+ years of hands-on formulation experience, ideally with terpenes, essential oils, flavors, or functional ingredients.
  • Strong bench skills and comfort iterating quickly between formulation and testing.
  • Familiarity with sensory evaluation methods and basic analytical techniques (GC, HPLC) is a plus.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with computational, analytical, and production teams.
  • Curious and hands-on, comfortable working at the intersection of data and bench science.
