The role

This role sits within the Financial Control team, who are responsible for the month-end close, preparation of financial accounts (to GL level,) and play a key role in the delivery of audits. Reporting into the Finance manager, you will be a nearly or fully qualified accountant with experience in delivering month-end activities such as accruals, prepayments, payroll and performing balance sheet reconciliations.

What excites you

  • Revenue accounting ownership across all GoCardless companies — end-to-end, from recognition through to reporting, in compliance with IFRS 15, collaborating closely with the Billing and Management Reporting teams.
  • Owning the intercompany (IC) process end to end: manage IC accounts, ensure all IC transactions are recorded and settled, and reconcile IC balances as part of the monthly close.
  • Owning key balance sheet accounts across the group, completing monthly reconciliations and resolving variances in a timely and documented manner.
  • Producing P&L variance analysis and commentary across all areas of ownership, translating numbers into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Playing a key role in the annual audit, acting as a reliable and prepared point of contact for auditors across your areas of responsibility.
  • Contributing to finance projects and process improvement initiatives, including system implementations and controls enhancement.

What excites us

Technical

  • Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA (OCC) with proven post-qualification experience in a financial control or management accounting environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS 15 (Revenue), with hands-on experience applying these standards.
  • Experience with multi-currency balance sheet reconciliations, ideally across multiple entities.
  • Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills; confident working with large, complex datasets.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or a comparable ERP/accounting system.

How you work

  • You take pride in your work - the details matter to you, and you hold yourself to a high standard without needing someone to check over your shoulder.
  • You start with why: you understand the purpose behind what you’re doing, ask the right questions, and look for better ways to do things — not just in your own work, but for the team as a whole.
  • You act with integrity - you do the right thing even when no-one is watching, and you take personal accountability for delivering on your commitments.
  • You’re a confident, clear communicator - equally at ease in a conversation with a Finance Director and a thoughtful explanation to a junior colleague.
  • You’re proactive and self-directed: you naturally spot what needs to be done and follow through - not because you’re pushed to, but because that’s simply the standard you hold yourself to.
  • You’re humble and collaborative - a genuine team player who brings others along and knows that the best outcomes come from working together.

Base salary range: €36,000 - €54,000 (including 13th and 14th salary)
