About this role
Type: Full-time
Reports to: COO
What We Do
At Heat Geek, we are tackling one of the UK’s biggest carbon contributors: home heating. Nearly 20% of all UK carbon emissions stems from home heating – and that contribution is even bigger on a global scale. At Heat Geek, we are changing that. By simplifying a traditionally complex industry and revolutionising the technology used by installers, we’re making low-carbon heating mainstream.
We have already prevented over 2,600,000 kilograms of carbon from entering our atmosphere as of July 2026, and we aren’t stopping there!
Join Us!
People are at the core of who we are and what we do. From decreasing homeowners' energy bills to help with the cost of living, to empowering talented heating engineers to perform outstanding installations, to ensuring a greener world for all of us, we believe in the power of what we can all do together. And we need passionate, talented, hard working people to be a part of this journey.
Your Mission
We're hiring a Supply Chain & Planning Lead to help our supply chain keep pace with Heat Geek's growth and deliver a consistently good experience for our installers and homeowners. You'll combine commercial judgement, practical supply-chain expertise and a drive to improve how things work - delivering the right level of service at the right total cost.
Working closely with the COO, you'll build on existing strengths and turn agreed priorities into practical improvements. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll take change through into day-to-day operation, build strong partner relationships and use data to keep performance on track.
Supply chain will be your primary focus. You'll also lead our established installation Planning team, which manages grant applications, grid connections and homeowner handover packs. You'll be supported by our Operations Associates, experienced Planning colleagues and QA and technology teams.
If you're reading this and it resonates with you, we know that you are talented and could do this work anywhere. But we want you to do it HERE, with us, because we need persevering teammates who care about making a real difference in the world.
Role Outputs
Supply Chain Innovation & Improvement
- Continually evaluate Heat Geek's supply-chain and fulfilment model to identify the approach that best supports the business as it grows, balancing service, resilience and total cost.
- Lead the development and implementation of supply-chain improvements and transformation, building on what works and introducing new ways of operating where they deliver better outcomes.
- Strengthen resilience by anticipating supply risks and putting proportionate contingency plans in place before issues affect installations.
- Work with the technical and wider business teams to support new products and manufacturers, ensuring supply arrangements are ready and commercially sound.
Demand Forecasting & Supply Planning
- Translate the installation pipeline, growth plans and new product introductions into a clear, regularly updated view of product demand.
- Work with suppliers and partners to share forecasts, understand lead times and capacity, and agree how future requirements will be met.
- Plan appropriate stock availability, balancing service, resilience and cash tied up in stock. Review forecasts against actual demand and adjust plans as needs change.
Supplier Relationships & Delivery Performance
- Manage key supplier and partner relationships, agreeing clear service levels and using regular performance reviews to improve reliability and address issues.
- Own the fulfilment outcome for installers: complete, correct and undamaged orders delivered at the agreed time. Work with the team and partners to address recurring causes of problems and communicate clearly when plans change.
- Negotiate strong commercial terms without compromising the service, quality or compliance standards the business needs.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop the supply-chain and Planning teams, setting clear priorities and responsibilities and helping people grow in their roles.
- Act as the escalation point for complex issues, helping the team reach sound decisions while keeping routine ordering, supplier follow-up and casework delegated.
Installation Planning & Compliance
- Oversee reliable delivery of pre- and post-installation Planning processes, supporting the team to maintain service standards and resolve exceptions.
- Work with QA and technology colleagues to keep processes aligned with changing requirements and use workflow improvements and automation to support growth.
Performance, Data & Reporting
- Manage supply-chain costs and assess improvements against their service and financial impact, rather than focusing on purchase price alone.
- Maintain a focused set of measures for availability, delivery, quality and cost, and provide clear, actionable reporting to the COO.
- Work with technology colleagues and partners to improve the processes, data and visibility that support reliable planning and fulfilment.
Candidate Requirements
- A strong track record of improving a supply chain or fulfilment operation, with evidence of taking meaningful change from an idea or agreed direction into day-to-day delivery.
- Strong commercial and relationship skills, including negotiating with suppliers or partners and using clear performance expectations to improve results.
- A sound understanding of demand forecasting, supply planning and stock management, with the ability to turn changing demand into practical decisions.
- Experience anticipating supply risks and developing workable contingency plans, alongside a calm, structured approach to operational problems.
- Confidence using data and performance measures to identify root causes, prioritise action and explain recommendations.
- Experience leading or developing a small team, with the judgement to delegate effectively and get involved where it adds value.
- Comfort working across operational and technical teams to improve processes and systems, with a practical, hands-on approach.
You don't need to come from the heating industry or arrive with specialist knowledge of installation compliance. You'll work with colleagues who bring that expertise and support you in learning what you need.
- It's a bonus if you have…
- Experience with heat pumps, renewable energy, construction, or utilities
- Experience in health and safety or warehouse operations
- Experience working in a start up or similarly fast-paced environment
- Experience working with manufacturers on new product introduction, or building a model for international/multi-market expansion
We believe great teams are built from different ways of thinking, learning, and living, and as such, we strive to build an organisation where people can show up as themselves. Even if you don't tick every box listed above, but are passionate about the work that we are doing and believe that you can make a positive impact here, we'd love to hear from you. So please drop us a message or share more detail in your application!
