We’re a team of engineers focused on making it easier for Agoda’s developers to build, deploy, and operate software at scale. We own core developer platforms and tools from source control and CI/CD to service discovery and deployment and continually improve their reliability, security, and ease of use. Our work spans software engineering, DevOps, and people leadership, with the opportunity to shape technical direction and support a wide engineering community.

The DevOps Engineering Manager role at Agoda combines hands-on software engineering, deep DevOps expertise, and strong people leadership. We’re looking for a software developer at heart—someone who can design and build software, lead technical decisions, and grow engineers while applying DevOps practices at scale.
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Lead hands-on software development across design, coding, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Design and build services, APIs, developer platforms, and internal tools that improve engineering productivity.
- Stay close to the code through implementation, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
- Build and scale CI/CD and security automation across approximately 1 million pipelines per month.
- Own and evolve core developer systems, including source control, CI, service discovery, and deployment platforms.
- Apply software engineering principles to solve infrastructure and delivery challenges, building reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Set technical direction and drive best practices in software design, automated testing, and code quality.
- Coach and grow engineers while building a high-performing team.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- A strong software development background, complemented by deep DevOps expertise.
- Experience leading an engineering team with at least 5 direct reports.
- Strong hands-on experience designing, building, testing, and maintaining software across the full SDLC.
- The ability to write production-quality code in a modern language, preferably Go or Python.
- Experience building software systems, APIs, internal platforms, or developer tools.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals, including system design, maintainability, automated testing, and code reviews.
- Practical experience with CI/CD, containerisation, and cloud-native practices, using technologies such as Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- The ability to make autonomous, data-driven decisions and take ownership of outcomes.
- Experience managing Agile or Scrum teams effectively.
It’s great if
you have
- Built developer platforms or engineering productivity tools.
- Developed full-stack applications using React.js and Go.
- Worked with Kubernetes, Ansible, Consul, or Vault.
- Used SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL or Elasticsearch.
- Improved observability, platform reliability, security automation, or developer experience.
