Ready to own some of Belgium’s most important retail partnerships and make a visible impact on brands that are changing the way people care for their homes?
This role offers the autonomy to shape strategy, influence key decisions and lead growth across Delhaize and Colruyt. If you're a commercially driven leader who enjoys turning opportunities into results, we encourage you to apply, even if your experience doesn't match every requirement perfectly. Sometimes the best candidates are the ones who bring something we weren't expecting.
Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Key Account Manager to lead the Delhaize and Colruyt business for Ecover and Method. You own the customer strategy, P&L and long-term growth plan for both accounts, and turn that plan into clear priorities and strong execution.
Based in Malle, you report to the FBNL Country Leader and lead two direct reports. You work closely with category, brand, product development, operations, supply chain and finance. We are looking for someone who thinks ahead, makes clear choices and is equally happy getting into the detail to move things forward.
Responsibilities
- Own Delhaize and Colruyt end to end. Set the customer strategy, budget and full P&L for both accounts, and deliver net sales, margin, volume and profitable growth.
- Lead the annual negotiations. Own joint business plans, commercial terms, pricing, assortment and promotional agreements, while protecting long-term value for both LSB and the customer.
- Drive field sales excellence. Lead and support execution at stores ensuring agreed assortments, shelf visibility, promotions and merchandising standards are consistently implemented. Partner closely with customers and field teams, conduct regular store visits, identify opportunities for improvement.
- Build strong customer relationships. Work confidently with buyers, category teams and senior stakeholders, understand how both customers operate and turn that knowledge into opportunities.
- Turn insight into growth. Use customer knowledge and consumer insight to grow distribution, visibility, rate of sale and profitability across existing and new products. You are comfortable working directly with Nielsen data and translating it into action.
- Manage promotions and trade investment. Choose the right moments and mechanics, track performance and keep improving return on investment.
- Keep planning and execution on track. Build a reliable bottom-up plan and work closely with supply chain and finance on forecasting, risks, opportunities and delivery of the monthly plan.
- Lead and develop your team. Give your two direct reports, a junior account manager and a sales support team member, clear direction, regular coaching and the space to take ownership and grow.
- Bring the right teams together. Align category, brand, product development, operations, supply chain and finance behind the customer agenda, and be a strong ambassador for Ecover, Method and the LSB values.
- Superpowers you'll bring:
- At least 5 years of key account management experience in Belgian FMCG, with full responsibility for at least one of the three largest retail accounts in Belgium. This is an absolute requirement.
- Hands-on experience managing Colruyt and/or Delhaize is also required.
- Strong P&L ownership, including annual negotiations, pricing, joint business planning, promotions and trade investment.
- Proven experience leading, coaching and developing people.
- Fluent Dutch and English. French is a plus.
- A strong understanding of the Belgian retail market and how large retailers make decisions and negotiate.
- Commercially sharp and confident with numbers. You use data to make choices, challenge assumptions and spot growth opportunities.
- A clear and credible communicator who can influence senior stakeholders and build strong customer stories.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to turn analysis into clear plans and presentations. Experience working with Anaplan is a plus.
- A self-starter with pace and resilience. You move things forward and stay calm under pressure.
- How you'll make a difference:
- You think like an owner. You take responsibility for the full result and follow through.
- You lead with clarity and trust. You set a high bar, give honest feedback and help others succeed.
- You balance strategy with action. You can set the direction and still roll up your sleeves when needed.
- You challenge constructively. You bring solutions, build momentum and get people moving together.
