Drive the Planning Behind World-Class Mission-Critical Projects
The successful delivery of hyperscale data centers and mission-critical infrastructure depends on exceptional planning, coordination, forecasting, and execution.
From greenfield site development and utility installation through commissioning and final turnover, project schedules serve as the roadmap that aligns engineering, procurement, construction, logistics, quality, commissioning, and customer expectations.
As a Scheduler, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the integrated schedules that drive some of North America's largest and most complex hyperscale data center developments. Your efforts will help project teams identify risks, evaluate alternatives, establish priorities, and make informed decisions that support successful project delivery.
About Michels Infrastructure Solutions
Michels Infrastructure Solutions (MIS) brings together the full capabilities of the Michels Family of Companies under a Super General Contractor (Super GC) model, providing mission-critical owners and developers with a single point of accountability for every phase of project execution.
By combining self-performed specialty design, construction, and commissioning services, MIS delivers large-scale, multidisciplinary projects with greater control over safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
MIS specializes in the delivery of hyperscale data centers and mission-critical facilities, leveraging expertise across mass grading and site development, wet and dry utilities, fiber and telecommunications infrastructure, ground improvement, deep foundations, structural concrete, power infrastructure, and commissioning. Our integrated delivery approach enables customers to partner with a single-source team capable of executing some of North America's most complex and demanding infrastructure projects.
Position Overview
As a Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated project schedules supporting large-scale hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
During the early phases of project development, you will support planning efforts associated with site development, mass grading, underground utilities, telecommunications infrastructure, structural concrete, power infrastructure, procurement planning, and construction mobilization activities. As projects advance, you will help manage schedule development, progress measurement, forecasting, execution planning, recovery planning, commissioning milestones, and turnover readiness activities.
This role serves as a critical partner to Project Management, Construction Management, Project Controls, Procurement, Engineering, Field Operations, Subcontractors, and Customers. You will help ensure project schedules accurately reflect project strategy, execution plans, resource requirements, procurement milestones, and project risks.
Success requires strong analytical skills, construction knowledge, planning expertise, communication abilities, and the ability to transform complex project information into actionable execution strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules from preconstruction through project closeout.
- Build and manage baseline schedules, milestone schedules, resource-loaded schedules, recovery schedules, commissioning schedules, and turnover schedules.
- Develop integrated schedules supporting engineering, procurement, construction, logistics, commissioning, and turnover activities.
- Coordinate schedule development with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Superintendents, Project Controls personnel, Procurement teams, Engineers, and Subcontractors.
- Analyze schedule performance and identify risks, constraints, delays, float erosion, and recovery opportunities.
- Support forecasting and reporting activities by providing schedule analysis and project progress updates.
- Assist project teams with schedule-driven decision making, sequencing strategies, and execution planning.
- Support schedule governance, scheduling standards, and project-planning best practices.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules supporting hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Establish project logic, sequencing, critical paths, milestones, resource plans, and schedule assumptions.
- Support planning activities associated with site development, earthwork, underground utilities, telecommunications infrastructure, structural concrete, power infrastructure, commissioning, and project turnover.
- Collaborate with project teams to validate execution strategies, manpower assumptions, procurement activities, construction sequencing, and commissioning requirements.
- Perform schedule updates using field-progress reporting, procurement-status updates, engineering deliverables, commissioning activities, and construction-progress data.
- Conduct critical-path analysis and evaluate schedule impacts resulting from design revisions, procurement delays, utility conflicts, weather events, productivity impacts, change orders, and owner-directed modifications.
- Facilitate schedule-review meetings, pull-planning sessions, look-ahead planning meetings, risk reviews, and recovery-planning workshops.
- Develop schedule-recovery plans and alternative execution strategies when project milestones are threatened.
- Prepare schedule reports, executive summaries, milestone updates, performance dashboards, and schedule-risk evaluations.
- Assist with project pursuits and preconstruction efforts by developing conceptual schedules, logistics assumptions, phasing plans, and execution strategies.
- Support procurement planning by integrating long-lead equipment and material milestones into project schedules.
- Support commissioning and turnover planning activities to ensure successful project transitions.
- Identify opportunities to improve schedule reliability, forecasting accuracy, production planning, and project-execution performance.
- Leadership & Project Support
- Partner with project teams to establish realistic and achievable project schedules.
- Promote schedule awareness and accountability throughout project teams.
- Support project leaders by identifying risks, opportunities, and execution challenges before they affect project milestones.
- Help establish planning standards, scheduling best practices, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate collaboration between project stakeholders to improve schedule certainty and execution performance.
