Position Overview
As a Seamstress you will be responsible for face fabric and lining for drapery panels and ensures that patterns and stripes match up when joining seam. Sewer performs sewing operation on soft shades.
What you'll do
- Join fabric and lining materials accurately according to production requirements.
- Operate serger and straight stitch sewing machines efficiently and safely.
- Sew side hems using the Sewing Automation 2300+ machine.
- Maintain consistent quality and productivity standards in a production environment.
- Handle and move fabric/materials, including lifting items over 30 pounds when required.
- Use hand tools and sewing equipment safely and properly throughout the shift.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from safety hazards.
- Perform repetitive sewing and material-handling tasks while following workplace safety procedures.
Who you are
- High school graduate
- Sewing experience; experience with industrial sewing machines
- Ability to use and read a tape measure
- General knowledge of fabrics
- Ability to use hand tools
- Successfully pass color blind test
- Accuracy with names, numbers and spelling
- Capable of standing for extended periods of time
- Capable of lifting on a continuous basis
- Strong attention to details
- Follow written and verbal instructions
