Location: Off-Campus Growth Groups and other On-Campus Events (Gastonia, NC)
Position Summary
Paid Childcare Worker is a ministry of Parkwood Baptist Church which consists of capable men and women who are responsible for providing safe, nurturing, age-appropriate care for children whose parents are participating in Parkwood Growth Groups or other church-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, nurturing care for children
- Supervise children at all times and maintain a safe environment
- Lead and participate in age-appropriate and Christ centered activities, play, and learning
- Document, report, and communicate as a mandated reporter
Requirements & Qualifications
- Follower of Christ with a firm conviction of Parkwood’s core beliefs. Passionate about serving the church.
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must be at least 15 years of age. Applicants under 18 must obtain a NCDOL Youth Employment Certificate.
- Child Safety Certification (will be given upon hire)
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and/or assist with children, equipment, or supplies (often up to 50 pounds), as required by the position.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to maintain professionalism, poise and kindness in stressful situations and environments
- Ability to perform job duties effectively in environments with varying levels of noise and activity
- Ability to inspect, identify, and respond to safety hazards and concerns
