About this role

This is what you like to do

Bring your organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to our procurement, logistics, and supply chain operations and contribute from your position to the future of maritime training.

VSTEP is a growing maritime simulation company based in Rotterdam. We build simulators that prepare the people who keep ships and crews safe at sea.

The company consists of around 70 people with diverse backgrounds from all over the world. We believe this diversity makes the company a great place to work where there is room for growth and learning.

You'll work side by side with our Supply Chain Specialist, who will be your mentor. Together you'll handle procurement and supply chain processes, work with suppliers and different teams, and learn how purchasing contributes to real-world projects in an international company.

We hope your internship can be the start of a longer journey with VSTEP, with the possibility to continue working with us after your internship.

Your daily activities will include:

  • Helping with procurement and purchasing activities.
  • Communicating with suppliers and following up on orders.
  • Helping to find and contact new suppliers.
  • Supporting colleagues with their purchasing needs.

Is this you?

You are:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant program such as Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Looking for an internship or graduation project as part of your education or studies
  • Someone who likes order: you keep track of details and follow things through
  • Willing to learn and work with procurement and ERP tools such as Exact and Odoo
  • Interested in technology, or at least comfortable around it. We're a tech company, and the parts you purchase end up in our simulators
  • Located and living in the Netherlands. This internship is office-based in Rotterdam. Hybrid working is NOT possible

You have

  • Excellent written and spoken English skills (This is the language we use internally)
  • This is what you want in a job!
  • Your work matters: the parts you source end up in simulators used by training centers and navies around the world
  • Real purchasing experience, including negotiating smaller orders yourself
  • Hands-on experience with ERP tools (Exact and Odoo)
  • Experience collaborating directly with our Supply Chain Specialist, Project Management, and Sales, not just other students
  • An inclusive, international, and diverse team
  • An internship lasting 4 months or longer
  • Start date is flexible. We work with your school's internship calendar
  • A laptop during your internship
  • Travel support with an NS card if needed
  • Free lunch and unlimited snacks every day
  • An internship fee of €550 net per month
