About this role

QC Inspector – Rasa, Malaysia

  • Deliver quality inspection across complex engineered equipment and fabrication
  • Work directly with project teams, clients and third-party inspectors at our Rasa factory
  • Join a global engineering business where quality, safety and continuous improvement matter

At Jord, we design, manufacture, commission and service bespoke process plant and engineered systems for the energy and resources industries. For over 50 years, we have built a reputation for delivering innovative, high-quality solutions to customers around the world.

We're looking for an experienced QC Inspector to join our team at our Rasa manufacturing facility. Reporting to the QC Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring fabrication, inspection and testing activities meet approved drawings, project requirements, international codes and Jord's quality standards.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on quality role with exposure across the full manufacturing and inspection process. You'll work closely with production teams, clients, authorised inspectors and third-party inspectors to identify issues early, maintain accurate quality records and support the successful delivery of engineered equipment.

If you're technically strong, methodical and committed to getting quality right the first time, we'd like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections in accordance with approved drawings, inspection and test plans, manufacturing processes, welding procedures and applicable project documentation
  • Coordinate inspection stages with clients, authorised inspectors and third-party inspectors, including preparation and sign-off of inspection reports
  • Progressively complete and sign off ITPs as each inspection stage or activity is completed
  • Inspect receipt materials, welding, non-destructive testing, post-weld heat treatment, factory function tests, structures, bought-out items, painting, galvanising and packing activities
  • Identify, communicate and support the resolution of quality issues, non-conformances and potential rework
  • Prepare daily inspection activity reports and maintain inspection photos, videos and records for progressive compilation of the Manufacturers Data Record
  • Review subcontractor inspection and testing reports and support the compilation of MDR documentation
  • Manage customer-issued NCRs and track corrective and preventive actions through to closure
  • Support supplier shop audits and project surveillance audits against relevant standards and Jord’s Integrated Management System
  • Monitor inspection activities against project quality objectives and KPIs and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement
  • Liaise effectively with the QC Manager, project teams, clients, suppliers and inspectors throughout project execution

About You

You'll be practical, thorough and confident working in a factory environment, with the judgement to identify quality risks and work constructively with others to resolve them. You'll also bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Welding Engineering
  • At least five years of relevant quality inspection experience in fabrication, pressure equipment or heavy manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of ASME, API, ASTM and AWS codes and standards
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance and quality control methods, inspection processes and measurement techniques
  • Experience interpreting drawings, specifications, technical data, regulations and project requirements
  • Experience with welding, NDE, heat treatment, coating, galvanising, packing and related manufacturing inspection activities
  • Sound problem-solving, investigation and reporting capability
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English

Why Join Jord?

At Jord, our people are trusted to take ownership, contribute ideas and deliver work they are proud of.

  • Work on complex engineered equipment for international energy and resources projects
  • Build broad technical exposure across fabrication, inspection, testing and project delivery
  • Be part of an experienced factory and project team focused on quality and safety
  • Access opportunities for professional development and career progression
  • Join a stable, privately owned international business with more than 50 years of engineering experience
